Custom Domain Setup Guide

With Gymfit+ or Gymfit Business, you can use your own domain name to showcase your profile. When visitors go to your custom domain, they'll see your Gymfit profile directly.

✨ Available for: Gymfit+ and Gymfit Business subscribers only.

Step 1: Add Your Domain

  1. Go to SettingsAdvanced SettingsCustom Domain
  2. Enter your domain name (e.g., yourdomain.com)
  3. Click "Add Domain"
  4. Your domain will be set to "Pending" status until DNS is configured

Step 2: Configure DNS Settings

You need to point your domain to our server. Choose one of these methods:

Method 1: CNAME Record (Recommended)

Type: CNAME

Name/Host: @ (or leave blank, or your domain name)

Value/Target: gymfit.me

TTL: 3600 (or default)

Note: Some DNS providers require you to enter just the domain name (gymfit.me) without the trailing dot. Check your DNS provider's documentation.

Method 2: A Record

If CNAME is not supported, use an A record pointing to our server IP address:

Type: A

Name/Host: @ (or leave blank)

Value: [Contact support for IP address]

TTL: 3600 (or default)

⚠️ Important: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though most changes take effect within a few hours. You can check DNS propagation using tools like DNS Checker.

Step 3: Domain Activation

Once your DNS is configured correctly:

  • Our system will automatically detect the DNS configuration
  • Your domain status will change from "Pending" to "Active"
  • Visitors to your custom domain will see your profile

How It Works

  • When someone visits yourdomain.com, they'll see your Gymfit profile
  • Your profile is still accessible at gymfit.me/@yourusername
  • All features work normally - posts, media, followers, etc.
  • Your custom domain shows ONLY your profile (not the full app navigation)

Troubleshooting

Domain Still Shows "Pending"

  • Wait 24-48 hours for DNS propagation
  • Verify your DNS records are correct using DNS Checker
  • Make sure you're using the correct record type (CNAME or A record)
  • Check that your domain registrar hasn't blocked the DNS changes

Domain Not Loading

  • Verify DNS propagation is complete
  • Clear your browser cache and try again
  • Check if your domain has SSL certificate issues (HTTPS)
  • Contact support if the issue persists

Requirements

  • Active Subscription: Gymfit+ or Gymfit Business plan
  • Domain Ownership: You must own the domain you want to use
  • DNS Access: Ability to modify DNS records for your domain
  • Valid Domain: Domain must be properly registered and active
